There’s something quietly magical about shaping clay with your hands — no machines, no rush, just you and the material. Our Hands on Clay workshop is all about embracing that process.
Join us for the very first edition of this special hand-building class at Kit & Caboodle, where we’ll guide you through creating a set of organic, free-form ceramic bowls that are as functional as they are beautiful.
Using a rich, mottled speckled clay, you’ll learn a variety of hand-building techniques to shape your pieces naturally — embracing soft curves, imperfect edges, and that unmistakable handmade charm. Each bowl will carry its own character, making it truly one of a kind.
During the session, you will:
– Explore hand-building pottery techniques (no wheel required)
– Shape and form your own organic ceramic bowls
– Learn how to refine and finish your pieces
– Add surface decoration and paint your creations for a personal touch
These versatile bowls can be used in so many ways — think tapas dishes, olive bowls, jewellery holders, bedside trinket dishes, or simply as beautiful decorative pieces in your home.
This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone craving a creative escape. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and designed to leave you with both new skills and something truly special to take home (after firing).
